Company history
The whole story began when Rompa was founded in Terheijden, The Netherlands in 1881. Rompa originally started as a tannery but evolved soon afterwards to become a supplier of bags, pouches, protective travel cases and other articles for the Dutch Government, the Postal Services, and Electronic Equipment manufacturers. Once the use of thermoplastics became more popular, thermoforming and injection moulding techniques were quickly introduced to our production facilities.
When it became popular to outsource for OEM companies to parts of the world such as the Far East, Rompa established the Rompa (Hong Kong) Ltd. office and became the majority joint venture partner of the Macau Rompa Shunxing Comércio Lda. After starting as a thermo-forming co-op company, injection moulding and the assembly of complex products were soon introduced. A large number of superior toolmakers also began to produce the best tools for us enabling us to provide you with products of the highest quality.
In 2005, Rompa also took over an injection moulding company in the Czech Republic (GM Vyskov), which resulted in Rompa CZ s.r.o. (Vyskov) being founded. In order to become active on the American continent, a professional partner for making thermo-formed products was also found. With this partner; Indepak, located in Portland, Oregon, Rompa Indepak L.L.C. was then established.
In 2008, another partner, Rompa Technoplast (The Netherlands), was found with complementary skills and an excellent reputation in plastic industry. Rompa Technoplast is the competence centre of the Rompa Group.
As a result of this considerable increase in scope, the Rompa Group can supply a wider range of products at locations where you, as customer, are situated.
