Last month we announced that our head office in The Netherlands has welcomed a new colleague at Sales; Paul van der Linden. Now, one month after his start, we would like to further introduce him to you.
1. Who is Paul van der Linden in a nutshell?
"I am an experienced Commercial Manager with a technical and practical background. I did my (plastic) training at Philips in Eindhoven (The Netherlands) and simultaneously I did a (evening) study. In my spare time I did for more than 25 years water polo, but the last couple of years I turned to individual sports such as running and mountain biking. And occasionally some golf... I cannot turn that off either."
2. What did you do before you started at the Rompa Group, March last?
"I have worked for over 12 years in various engineering positions at Philips PMF. Then I switched to Technoplast where I worked as a Sales Engineer, primarily for customers in the automotive industry such as Robert Bosch, Volvo, Mitsubishi and Yazaki. I did that for five years and then I switched to a different injection molding company and later to a business in interior and office design. In these last two positions I expanded my sales knowledge and experience even further. Meanwhile I was a teacher at a training institute for plastics technology and that is why I have always been involved in the beautiful plastics industry."
3. What is your specialty?
"Because of my background, I have a lot of practical experience with molds and the injection molding process. This has the advantage for my customers that I can immediately respond to questions and therefore can suggest improvements and/or savings. Because of my broad experience I have gained much knowledge in various markets such as the automotive, medical, consumer and packaging markets. I know what is happening in those markets, I speak the language, I understand my customers."
4. Tell us about your first month the Rompa Group? What did you see?
"It is a wonderful company with a dedicated team of over 700 colleagues across The Netherlands, the Czech Republic, the United States and China. We have some fantastic customers in our portfolio and we are proud of that. And last but not least, we can offer our customers unprecedented opportunities."
5. What are your ambitions for the next 5 years?
"My ambition is to let the Rompa Group continue growing to a global and leading plastics specialist. I want to achieve that by collaborating with new international customers, in particular the automotive and the high-tech industry."
