With us it's personal. In the context of our "It's the people who make Rompa" web section, we would like to introduce another new colleague to you: Jakub Černý who started as a Engineering Manager at Rompa CZ a couple of weeks ago.
1. Who is Jakub Černý in a nutshell (business and private)?
“I am the person who was taking care of new business in the automotive industry during the last couple years. I spent 10 years at Tier 1 supplier, working for the biggest OEMs in the market. Anyway the biggest experience in my life are my two children.”
2. What did you do before you started at the Rompa Group?
“As a team member of a company producing shifter systems for cars, I was responsible for quotations, investments, production processes, design and complete industrialization of products in production plants. So the design department was responsible what had be produced and my team was responsible for how it was produced.”
3. What is your specialty?
“Because my work in the past was quite complex, I am have learned to see problems from different angles. At times I even say that the world is based just on 0s and 1s haha! That is not completely true of course so sometimes we need to compromise even if we do not like it.”
4. Tell us about your first days at the Rompa Group? What did you see?
“I saw a lot of people who want to move the plant ahead and improve things. I also understood that Rompa has changed a lot (in the good way) in the last couple months and years but there is still enough to improve, so that is a nice challenge for me.”
5. What makes Rompa unique in the plastics Industry?
“The big advantage these days is to be a 'global player', which Rompa is and they are still growing. This can bring a lot of new business from the biggest, best-known and most-challenging customers.”
6. Tell me how a typical day at the office looks like. What do you do and who do you speak?
“Well, till now there was really no day that I would call typical. Every day new things appear. Sometimes expected, sometimes surprising. So I am trying to uncover the basis to be able to build walls. I have seen that my team members are really able to move the company ahead. That is what helped me during my start in Rompa.“
7. Who is your example, your role model?
“I really cannot come up with just one name. I would need to name several people that I met during my professional life.“
8. What is your ambition for the next 5 years?
“Keep going ahead!”
9. What is your motto?
“When I was leaving the company for which I worked for more than 10 years, my boss told me: “Keep being rebel”. And so that is what I will try to do...haha!"
