The plans have been in place for a while, but now it is finally happening: six months after the opening of the production site in the Slovakian town of Bardejov, Rompa SK is moving to a larger, completely renovated building in that same town. With 2,000 m2 of space, this new location offers extensive opportunities for the expansion and optimisation of our assembly activities.
“Rompa SK has finally come into its own,” Malcolm Ford explains with pride. Rompa CZ’s Executive Director also manages the production site in Slovakia. “During our first six months in Slovakia, our business has expanded significantly. Furthermore, we want to relocate the assembly work currently being done in the Czech Republic to Bardejov as much as possible. This new location makes that possible. Ninety percent of the assembly work being done in the Czech Republic will now move to Slovakia instead”. This will create 75 new jobs in Bardejov, which is located in a region plagued by unemployment. The building’s renovation was achieved with the help of the European Union and initiated by the Slovakian government in an attempt to lower the unemployment rate in the region.
The same methods as in the Czech Republic
The fact that Rompa will be moving its assembly activities from the Czech Republic to Slovakia does not affect the consistently high quality of service our customers have come to expect. Malcolm Ford: “We operate in a similar manner and use the same systems as in the Czech Republic. New employees undergo an extensive training programme. They learn to work in accordance with our high quality standards, but we also submerge them in the ‘Rompa DNA,’ to ensure it becomes second nature to them to do whatever they can to exceed our customers’ expectations. That is the foundation of our success”.
The door to the rest of Europe is open
Focusing all assembly activities in a single location will ultimately lead to even more advantages, Malcolm Ford believes. “Because the focus in Slovakia lies solely on assembly, we are better able to further develop and optimise this department. That, in turn, will improve our service, which our customers will benefit from”. Furthermore, the production site in Slovakia has also opened the door to the rest of Europe. “Our ambition is to be wherever our customers are, and to think in limitless possibilities”.
